India Women are gearing up for blockbuster action in the 2025 calendar year, as their U19 squad will be defending their T20 World Cup crown at the U19 Women's T20 World Cup 2025 in Kuala Lumpur.
The Indian side won the title in 2023, under the leadership of current India Women opener Shafali Verma, and will be looking to retain their title, this time, under the leadership of Niki Prasad.
The primary task of the Indian side will be to see off the threat of hosts Malaysia, Sri Lanka and West Indies, as these three teams are placed alongside the defending champions in Group A.
The U19 team are carrying momentum on their side, as they successfully retained their Asia Cup title, with them hardly breaking a sweat throughout the tournament, on their way to thump Bangladesh Women in the final.
G Trisha and Aayushi Shukla were the stars of the recently-concluded tournament, with them ending up as leaders in runs and wickets charts respectively (159 runs and 10 wickets).
West Indies Women will be the first challenge in front of the reigning champions, as India Women start their campaign from January 19.
16 teams are fighting for the ultimate supremacy in the T20I format at the U19 level, and India Women can fancy their chances of repeating their 2023 South Africa heroics.
