Update On Mohammed Siraj For India vs England Test Series
In the ongoing India vs England five-match Test series, Mohammed Siraj was absent from the 2nd IND vs ENG Test in Visakhapatnam, where India secured a comfortable 106-run victory. Siraj had a subdued performance in the 1st IND vs ENG Test in Hyderabad, remaining wicketless in both innings. India faced an embarrassing defeat by 28 runs in the first Test by the hands of England after the Ben Stokes-led side staged a remarkable comeback.
Siraj's exclusion from the 2nd Test was attributed to workload management, as explained by Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma. Mukesh Kumar took his place in the lineup for the Visakhapatnam Test. However, Mukesh's modest performance in the 2nd IND vs ENG Test suggests that Siraj may make a comeback for the 3rd IND vs ENG Test, scheduled to begin on February 15.
Gill's Resurgence In 2nd IND vs ENG Test
Coming to Shubman Gill, the right-hand top-order India batter experienced a run drought following a challenging South Africa tour and subpar performances in the first India vs England Test, where he recorded a duck in India's second batting innings. However, he made a strong comeback by showcasing excellent form in the third innings of the 2nd IND vs ENG Test, scoring an impressive 104 runs off just 147 balls. His significant contribution played a crucial role in India's 106-run victory, helping them level the series 1-1.
