How India Can Square Off Against Pakistan In ICC Men's U19 Cricket World Cup 2024

India competed in Group A during the group stage, whereas Pakistan was assigned to Group D. Remarkably, both teams clinched the top positions in their respective groups at the end of league stage.

The initial phase of the ICC Men's Under-19 Cricket World Cup 2024 has concluded, marking the transition to its second phase that started on January 30th onwards. Following the culmination of the group stage on Sunday (January 28th), a total of 12 teams have progressed to the highly anticipated Super Six stage of the U19 World Cup tournament. The Super Six stage of the tournament features the top three teams from each of the four round-robin groups (Group A,Group B, Group C and Group D).

Following the conclusion of the group / league stage matches, the Super 6 round comprises India, Bangladesh, Ireland, Pakistan, New Zealand, and Nepal in one group, while South Africa, England, West Indies, Australia, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe in another group. Teams that performed well during the group stage will have a slight advantage in the ICC Men's U19 World Cup Super 6 round.

How India and Pakistan can square off in ICC Men's U19 Cricket World Cup 2024 Tournament

Following the group stage matches in U19 World Cup, India and Pakistan are now in the same group for the Super 6 round. However, they won't face each other in any match during the Super 6 stage. 

Team India competed in Group A during the group stage, whereas Pakistan cricket team was assigned to Group D. Remarkably, both teams clinched the top positions in their respective groups at the end of league stage matches. As per the ICC format for U19 Cricket World Cup 2024 tournament, a qualifying team is slated to compete against two teams from the other group, each finishing at different positions.

In the Super 6 round, India (A1) faced D2 (New Zealand) and will now square off against D3 (Nepal), but they won't play against D1 (Pakistan) in this round. 

India and Pakistan are in the same groups in the Super Six stage, they cannot face each other in the semi-final. According to the format, the winner of one group will compete against the runner-up of the other group in the knockout stage. Thus, India and Pakistan can only face each other if both teams advance to the ICC Men's U-19 Cricket World Cup 2023 Final.
