ILT20 Final: Dubai Capitals (DC) defeated Desert Vipers (DV) by four wickets in the final of the International League T20 (ILT20) 2025 edition on February 9 (Sunday) at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai. Dubai Capitals’ Rovman Powell and Sikandar Raza starred with the bat as they, along with help from Shai Hope and Dasun Shanaka, guided the team over the line.
Batting first, Desert Vipers got off to a poor start as Alex Hales and Rahmanullah Gurbaz fell early to Obed McCoy. However, Max Holden counterattacked with nine boundaries inside the powerplay, taking the Vipers to 53/2 in six overs. Dubai Capitals’ spin briefly tightened the game before Holden reached a 32-ball fifty and Dan Lawrence departed at 76/3 after 10 overs.

Captain Sam Curran joined Holden, keeping the scoreboard ticking before accelerating in the death overs. Holden fell in the 16th over, but Azam Khan provided quick runs. Curran’s late blitz, including a 28-ball fifty, powered the Vipers to a strong total of 189/5.

Sikandar Raza, Rovman Powell Power Dubai Capitals To Maiden ILT20 Trophy
Chasing 190 in the final, Dubai Capitals overcame early setbacks to chase down 190 and win the ILT20 2025 title. David Warner and Gulbadin Naib fell cheaply, while Sam Billings also departed early, leaving the Capitals struggling at 39/3 in the powerplay. Rovman Powell and Shai Hope steadied the innings with a crucial partnership, taking the team past 100, but Hope fell to Sam Curran, leaving the Capitals with a rising required rate.
Powell powered to a 30-ball fifty before departing, but Sikandar Raza took charge in the final overs. With 24 needed off 12 balls, Raza struck three fours off Mohammad Amir and sealed the win in the final over with a six and a four, guiding the Capitals to their maiden ILT20 title.
Powell was awarded the Player of the Match award in the final while Vipers’ skipper Sam Curran was adjudged the Player of the Tournament.
