Bihar Cop Beaten To Death By Villagers In Araria While Arresting Criminal, 3 Detained
When the police team went there and arrested the criminal, the local villagers entered into an altercation with the police, and they managed to release him.

A police officer was allegedly beaten to death in Bihar's Araria on Wednesday after a scuffle broke out while he was trying to arrest a criminal. The deceased cop, identified as ASI Rajiv Ranjan, had gone to arrest a criminal in the district when the villagers attacked him in an attempt to free the criminal.
The offender was forcibly freed during the scuffle, resulting in the ASI's death. The body was taken to Sadar Hospital, where heavy police deployment was in place.
Araria SP Anjani Kumar stated that the criminals have been identified and a search operation is underway to arrest the other accused. Authorities have detained three to four persons in connection with the case.

Police Launch Investigation
DSP Forbesganj Mukesh Kumar Saha said that the police had got information about criminal Anmol Yadav attending a wedding function. When the police team went there and arrested him, the local villagers entered into an altercation with the police, and they managed to release Anmol Yadav.
"During the altercation, ASI Vijay Kumar fell down and he was declared dead at the hospital. 3-4 people detained; further investigation underway," he said.
