CSK Vs PBKS Pitch Report: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are set to host Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the 49th fixture of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season on April 30 (Wednesday) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. 

The five-time champions have managed just one win in their last five home fixtures. With only two victories this season, they currently sit at the bottom of the points table. With this, a top-four finish now appears improbable with five games remaining.

The return of MS Dhoni as captain following Ruturaj Gaikwad's elbow injury hasn't triggered a comeback yet. Dhoni himself acknowledged the team's ongoing struggles with finding the right combinations and absymal performance in the powerplay.

At the same time, Shreyas Iyer led-side have emerged victorious in five out of 9 matches till date & find themselves in fifth position on the points table with 11 points. Their previous face-off against Kolkata Knight Riders was washed out due to downpour. As the tournament enters its final stretch, PBKS will need to deliver and find consistency if they hope to secure a place into the top four.
