Cricket Association Of Bengal Wishes Mukesh Kumar Post His Selection In Indian Team
The Bengal-based pacer scalped 22 wickets in the 2022-2023 Ranji season, playing a crucial role in their campaign to the Ranji final.
On Friday, the Cricket Association of Bengal wished Mukesh Kumar after his maiden national call-up. The 29-year-old pacer has been a consistent performer in the Indian domestic circuit and as a result, he has been added to the India squads for Test and ODI series in West Indies, starting on July 12.
“On behalf of CAB let me congratulate Mukesh and wish him all the best. He has been very consistent over the last two seasons,” CAB president Snehasish Ganguly said.
“I am sure he will do very well if given a chance in the playing eleven.”
The Bengal-based pacer scalped 22 wickets in the 2022-2023 Ranji season, playing a crucial role in their campaign to the Ranji final. He has 149 wickets in his kitty after playing 38 first-class matches. Earlier, on Friday the BCCI came up with the Indian squads for two Tests and three-match One-Day-Internationals (ODIs) against West Indies. The Maharashtra-based batter Ruturaj Gaikwad has been added to both Test and ODI squads. Other notable players who got a chance in the Indian team are Yashasvi Jaiswal, Mukesh Kumar, Jaydev Unadkat (ODI), and Navdeep Saini (Test). Veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has been included in the Test team.

Senior players like Umesh Yadav and Cheteshwar Pujara have been eliminated from the Indian squad.
