‘His Second Child Is On The Way’: AB de Villiers Reveals Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma Are Expecting Second Child

AB de Villiers has confirmed that Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are expecting their second child.

Former South Africa captain AB de Villiers has ended speculations about Virat Kohli's absence from the first two Tests against England by revealing that star Indian batter and his wife Anushka Sharma are expecting their second child. De Villiers supported Kohli's decision to skip the matches, praising him for prioritising his family. He emphasised that Kohli should not be judged for taking a break to be with his loved ones during this significant phase of his life.

Indian cricket team fans are eagerly anticipating Virat Kohli's return to the field after he took a break from the first two Tests against England. There is uncertainty regarding his availability for the last three Tests. Speculations about the reason behind Kohli's absence have been circulating since he took the break. However, his former Royal Challengers Bangalore teammate AB de Villiers has now revealed the reason behind Kohli's time away from cricket.

'He Is Fine, He Is Happy'

During a live session on his YouTube channel ‘AB de Villiers 360’, AB de Villiers was questioned about whether he had communicated with Virat Kohli and inquired about his well-being. In response, AB de Villiers shared that Virat Kohli is all fit and fine and just needs to spend time with his family at the moment. "All I know is he is fine. He is spending a bit of time with his family, that is the reason he is missing the first two Test matches. I am not going to confirm anything else. I cannot wait to see him back. He is fine, he is happy. Let me just see what he said. I just want to at least give you a little bit of love,” De Villiers said.

"So I wrote to him 'Been wanting to check in with you for a while now biscuits. How are you?'. He said 'Just need to be with my family right now'. Then I said I am doing well.”

"Yes, his second child is on the way. Yes, it's family time and things are important to him. If you are not true and genuine to yourself, you lose track of what you are here for. I think most people's priority is family. You can't judge,” De Villiers added.

Here's the video of AB de Villiers confirming the news:

It is important to note that the news has not yet been confirmed by the couple.
