COVID19: 3-time World Junior Champ Arjun Bhati Sells Over 100 Trophies To Donate Rs 4.3 Lakh In PM Cares Fund

The golfer who studies at the Greater Valley school in Greater Noida told ABP News that , " I am still young and can win many trophies again. But the country is going through a deep crisis and I wanted to contribute in my own way"

New Delhi: Amid leading sportsmen from various disciplines coming out in large numbers by contributing or donating money to help out the government in the fight against COVID19 pandemic, Arjun Bhati, a three time junior world champion golfer from Greater Noida has set an example of sorts by selling 102 trophies that he has won so far to make his earnest donation in the battle against coronavirus.
Arjun has parted ways with his hard earned and cherished peices of silverware to donate funds towards the PM Cares Fund which has been set up as a consolidated fund to wage the war against the deadly coronavirus.
Arjun approached his friends and relatives to take the trophies and and give him money in exchange of his prized possesion. He collected 4 lakhs 30 thousand rupees by selling all his trophies and has already contributed that to PM cares fund .
The golfer who studies at the Greater Valley school in Greater Noida told ABP News that , " I am still young and can win many trophies again. But the country is going through a deep crisis and I wanted to contribute in my own way. This was the only way for me as I am a 10th standard student and don't earn money myself . So I had decided to sell off the trophies I have earned. After the lockdown gets over, I will give the trophies to those who have shown courtesy to buy it from me ."
Many professional sportsmen have contributed to the PM cares fund. But Arjun clearly have set an inspiring example .
