Commonwealth Games 2022 Opening Ceremony Live Updates: The much-awaited multi-nation sporting event Commonwealth Games 2022 is all set to start today. CWG 2022 opening ceremony will be organized in Birmingham today. Many big artists will perform at the mega event. This time the Commonwealth Games are being organized in England's Birmingham -- one of the best cities in the nation. Athletes from 72 countries including India will participate in CWG 2022. The 12-day tournament will conclude on August 8. A total of 215 players from India will participate this year in which 164 athletes will participate in the opening ceremony. The Indian contingent will be led by shuttler PV Sindhu along with hockey team captain Manpreet Singh at the opening ceremony. The Indian Olympic Association has chosen these two players as the flag bearers of India at the opening ceremony.
Commonwealth Games 2022 opening ceremony will begin at 11.30 pm tonight. More than 700 people from 15 singers groups from the West Midlands will participate in this ceremony. During this, about 2000 artists will give their performance.

After being made the flag bearer, PV Sindhu said, “It is a great honor to lead the team in such a grand gathering and to be honored with the responsibility of flag bearer. I am extremely happy and I wish all my fellow team all the best for the Games. I would also like to thank the IOA for choosing me as the flag bearer."
