Sakat Chauth 2025: In Hinduism, every fast and festival holds its own significance. Sakat Chauth is observed on the fourth day of the Krishna Paksha in the month of Magha. January 17, 2025, Friday, is especially significant for women, as it is dedicated to the well-being and long life of children, as well as for a happy life.

The fourth day of each month’s Krishna Paksha is dedicated to Lord Ganesha, but the fourth day of Magha's Krishna Paksha is celebrated as Sakat Chauth. This fast is dedicated to Sakat Mata, and on this day, mothers observe the fast for the welfare of their sons. Lord Ganesha is also worshiped on this day, and praying to him brings prosperity and happiness.

This day is also known as Maghi Chauth, Til-Kuta Chauth, Sakat Chauth, and Vakra-Tundi Chaturthi.

Sakat Chauth 2025 Tithi And Muhurat

According to the Panchang, the fourth day of the Sakat Chauth fast will begin on January 17, 2025, at 4:06 AM. The fourth day will end on January 18, 2025, at 5:30 AM. The moonrise on this day will be at 9:09 PM.

Sakat Chauth 2025 Pujan Muhura

  • The first auspicious time for worship on Sakat Chauth is from 5:27 AM to 6:21 AM.  
  • The second auspicious time for worship on Sakat Chauth is from 8:34 AM to 9:53 AM.  
  • The third auspicious time for worship on Sakat Chauth is from 9:53 AM to 11:12 AM.  
  • The fourth auspicious time for worship on Sakat Chauth is from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Sakat Chauth 2025 Pujan Vidhi

  • Wake up before sunrise, take a bath, and resolve to observe the fast.
  • Perform worship of Lord Ganesha.
  • Include sesame seeds, copper water pot, jaggery, flowers, sandalwood, offerings, bananas, coconuts, etc., in the worship.
  • During Sakat Chauth worship, pray to Sakat Mata and place an idol of Goddess Durga.
  • Light a ghee lamp.
  • In the evening, pray to Lord Ganesha, listen to the Sakat Chauth story, and perform Ganesh Aarti.
  • Perform the ritualistic worship of Chandra Dev at night.
  • Offer water to the moon, show incense and lamp, offer prasad, and then break the fast.
