Mokshada Ekadashi And Gita Jayanti:

Mokshada Ekadashi falls on the Shukla Paksha Ekadashi of the Margashirsha month. This year, Mokshada Ekadashi holds special significance as it is referred to as the day of salvation.

On this day, Lord Krishna imparted the divine knowledge of the Bhagavad Gita to Arjuna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra, offering guidance to overcome worldly attachments and attain liberation. It is believed that those who fast and recite the Bhagavad Gita on this day pave the way to heaven.

When Lord Krishna shared the wisdom of the Gita with Arjuna, it illuminated the entire world with divine knowledge.

The Story Of Mokshada Ekadashi

In ancient times, King Vaikhanas of Gokul dreamt that his father was suffering in hell. Deeply disturbed, he approached the wise sage Parvata Muni for guidance. The sage revealed that his father had committed sins in his previous birth, leading to his suffering in hell.

To free his father from this torment, the sage advised the king to observe the Mokshada Ekadashi fast and dedicate its merit to his father. The king, along with his family, followed this advice and performed the fast with utmost devotion.

As a result, the king’s father was liberated from hell and ascended to heaven, blessing his son with prosperity and well-being before departing.
