Ekadashi In July 2025 — Know Dates, Muhurat, Significance And All

Ekadashi falls on the eleventh day of both the waxing and waning lunar phases. In July 2025, which aligns with the holy month of Shravan, two significant Ekadashi fasts will be observed.

Ekadashi is considered one of the most sacred and spiritually rewarding fasts in the Hindu tradition. It is said to yield greater merit than even fire sacrifices or Vedic rituals. Observing a fast on this day, combined with the worship of Lord Vishnu, is believed to invite prosperity, destroy all sins, and free one from material attachments — ultimately leading to salvation.

Observed twice a month, Ekadashi falls on the eleventh day of both the waxing and waning lunar phases. In July 2025, which aligns with the holy month of Shravan, two significant Ekadashi fasts will be observed: Devshayani Ekadashi and Kamika Ekadashi.

Here are the key dates and timings for Ekadashi in July 2025:

1. Devshayani Ekadashi – 6 July 2025

This Ekadashi falls during the Shukla Paksha (waxing phase) of the Ashadha month. It marks the beginning of Chaturmas—the four-month period during which all auspicious ceremonies are put on hold. On this day, Lord Vishnu is believed to enter a meditative sleep (Yoga Nidra). Hence, it is considered one of the most spiritually powerful Ekadashis. Devotees observing this fast are believed to attain liberation (moksha).

Interestingly, in 2025, this Ekadashi coincides with a Monday, which is considered especially auspicious for worshipping Lord Shiva. As a result, this day holds a unique opportunity to receive the blessings of both Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva. This fast is believed to help one overcome negative energies and fulfill all desires.
