What Items Should Be Donated On Diwali?

  • On Diwali or the day before, distribute sweets and new clothes to underprivileged children. This brings the blessings of the deities, reduces negative planetary effects, and attracts the positive influence of Saturn in one's horoscope.

What Items Should Not Be Donated On Diwali?

  • Iron should not be donated on Diwali, as it is associated with Rahu, which may bring misfortune if given on this day.
  • Additionally, avoid donating salt or any white items, as these can lead to discord in relationships and financial hardship.
  • Money transactions are also discouraged on Diwali, so avoid lending or borrowing funds. Doing so is believed to drive away Goddess Lakshmi from one’s home.
