Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Phool Makhana (foxnuts)
  • 1 Cup Curd (beaten)
  • 1 Teaspoon Sendha Namak (rock salt)
  • 1 Tablespoon Ghee or Peanut Oil
  • 0.5 Teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1 Piece Green Chilli
  • 0.5 Teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 0.5 Teaspoon Coriander Powder
  • 1 Piece Potato (boiled)
  • Water
  • Fresh Coriander Leaves

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Take a non-stick pan and heat 1tsp ghee in it. Once done, add the phool makhanas and roast them on low flame. Wait till they are crispy. Then, set aside.

Step 2

In the same pan, add more ghee and then saute cumin seeds, chopped green chilli, and ginger for a few seconds.

Step 3

Toss in the boiled potatoes and cook for about 2-3 minutes.

Step 4

Lower the flame and slowly add beaten curd while stirring continuously. Add sendha namak, black pepper, and coriander powder.

Step 5

Allow the curry to cook for about 5 minutes. After than, add in the roasted makhanas. Mix it well and let it simmer for another couple of minutes, till the makhanas absorb flavours.

Step 6

Garnish the curry an serve it hot with samak rice or kutti ki poori.
