March 2021 — WhatsApp was down for nearly three-quarters of an hour due to a technical issue that Meta said was restricting users from accessing its services.

July 2020 — WhatsApp was down for nearly two hours. No details were provided by Meta (then known as Facebook) on why such an issue occurred.

January 2020 — The year 2020 saw four notable WhatsApp outages. The January disruption was the longest back then, lasting for nearly three hours.

July 2019 — All Meta services saw a major outage, where users complained that not only were they unable to post on the platforms, but were also unable to see their own feeds or photos.
