Jay Shah, the Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), was elected unopposed as the Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC) on August 27 (Tuesday). He took over the role from Greg Barclay. At 36, Shah is the youngest person ever to hold the ICC chairmanship. 2019-2024: BCCI Secretary- In October 2019, Jay Shah was first elected as BCCI Secretary and was re-elected for a second term in October 2021. During his tenure, India has consistently advanced as a cricketing nation. “I would also like to work towards setting up a separate program for talent search during my tenure, and I look forward to your support in this program. While the T20 is a naturally exciting format, it is equally important that Test cricket remains a priority for everyone as it forms the bedrock of our game.
