US Man Loses Eye To Cancer, Creates Prosthetic Eye With A Flashlight
In the video, Stanley dubs the innovation as 'titanium skull lamp' and says it is perfect for reading in the dark and does not get hot.
Loosing an eye due to cancer could be one of the toughest moments in ones life and may also lead to depression. But there are some people who want to fight all odds and turn them in their favour. One such person is a 33-year-old man Brian Stanley from the US.
An engineer, Stanley lost one of his eye to cancer, but instead of losing hope he turned his disability into an ‘eye-catching’ innovation. He transformed his prosthetic eyeball into a fully-functioning flashlight.
Brian's right eye gives out a beam of light, making him appear like a robot or an android in a science fiction movie.
He also posted a video on Instagram featuring his prosthetic eye. People compared him to Arnold Schwarzenegger in the Terminator films, where his robotic eye has the same glow.

While another wrote, "Pros: you can be your own light source. Cons everyone else will expect you to go first into the scary woods."
"Have you thought about making a camera? Would be the first true point of view camera ever," wrote another user
"Amazing! Next step, eyelid detection option to stop the light when the eyelid is closed. And why not, an on/off switch based on a specific blinking sequence? It's great that an invention like yours feeds the imagination about new possibilities. What about a laser pointer? Or a camera but with a classic eye look? Or an LED display eye...," wrote one user after seeing the video.
