Man Sues Company For Paying Him Rs 1.03 Crore Annually To Do 'Nothing', Here's Why
Mills claims that the step taken by the company is in order to punish him for bringing to light the irregular accounting matters at the company in 2014.
We often come across people complaining of being overworked at their company and not being able to handle the work pressure. But a railway employee in Dublin, Ireland, was not happy with his company for a completely different reason. Dermot Alastair Mills has sued his company for bullying him by making him do "nothing" at work.
Mills, who earns an annual salary of $126,000 (Rs 1.03 crore) and spends most of his time at work reading newspapers, eating sandwiches and taking walks claims that the step taken by the company is in order to punish him for bringing to light the irregular accounting matters at the company in 2014, reported The Daily Star. Since then Mills has been sidelined by the company.
"I buy two newspapers, The Times and The Independent, and a sandwich. I go into my cubicle, I turn on my computer, and I look at emails. There are no emails associated with work, no messages, no communications, no colleague communications," he said, as reported by The Daily Star.

"I sit and I read the newspaper and I eat my sandwich. Then, about 10.30 a.m., if there's an email that requires an answer, I answer it. If there's work associated with it, I do that work," he further said.
Mills leaves for lunch and a walk around Noon and returns to the office between 2:30 and 3pm. And if there is no work he leaves for home. The Irish Rail employee largely works from home.
"I either work from home or go into the office – two days at home, three days in the office," Mills told the Workplace Relations Commission, according to The Daily Star.
