Diwali is quickly approaching, and we are all eager to celebrate. While some of us have begun Diwali cleaning, others are deciding on outfits. However, many people are also attempting to pick up crackers and bring them home. In light of this, the official handle of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) recently took to Instagram and shared a hilarious reel.

People who set off firecrackers in Delhi during Diwali face up to six months in jail, according to the city's environment minister, as pollution levels in the Indian capital worsen.

Those caught bursting firecrackers will also face a fine of 200 Indian rupees, according to the government.

The regulations are part of a larger ban on firecrackers that was announced in September to help reduce extreme pollution.

Delhi is the most polluted capital in the world.

Factory emissions, traffic fumes, and general weather patterns all contribute to the city's high pollution levels. Every winter, when farmers in neighbouring states burn crop stubble, the air becomes especially polluted. Furthermore, fireworks during the festival of Diwali degrade air quality because low wind speeds trap pollutants in the lower atmosphere.
