'World Needs China': Xi Jinping After Securing 3rd Term. Pakistan, North Korea & Russia Extend Wishes

As he addressed the press, Xi Jinping asserted that "the world needs China."

Xi Jinping on Sunday earned an unprecedented third term as China's president and elevated some of his closest supporters in the Communist Party, solidifying his position as the country's most powerful leader since Mao Zedong.

After decades of elite power-sharing, the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee dramatically shifted the country back toward one-man rule by electing Xi as its general secretary for another five-year term.

As he addressed the press, Xi Jinping asserted that "the world needs China."

"China cannot develop without the world, and the world also needs China," Xi was quoted by AFP in its report.

"After more than 40 years of unflagging efforts towards reform and opening up, we have created two miracles -- rapid economic development and long-term social stability," he said.

In order to earn the tremendous trust of his party and the people, he vowed to "work diligently in the performance of our duties."

Also, Xi was given another term as chairman of China's Central Military Commission.

Pakistan, North Korea & Russia Congratulates Xi Jinping For Securing Third Term In Power

On Sunday, Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister of Pakistan, congratulated Xi Jinping, the president of China, on winning a third term in office.

Sharif hailed Xi Jinping's victory as a testament to his "unwavering loyalty" to the Chinese people.

Taking to Twitter, Pakistan's PM stated: "On behalf of the entire Pakistani nation, I congratulate President Xi Jinping on his reelection as CPC General Secretary for the 3rd term. It is a glowing tribute to his sagacious stewardship and unwavering devotion for serving the people of China."

In praising his Chinese counterpart, Pakistan's President Arif Alvi referred to him as a "true friend of Pakistan."

"I extend heartiest congratulations to H.E. Xi Jinping on his reelection as CPC General Secretary, and my best wishes for his health and happiness. He is a true friend of Pakistan and champion for All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership between Pakistan and China,"  Alvi tweeted.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday wished Xi Jinping well in his third term and expresses his desire to improve ties with China, AFP reported.

According to official media, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un gave Chinese President Xi Jinping his "warmest congratulations" for winning a third term as the leader of the Communist Party of China, AFP reported.

XI Jinping Will Publicly Declare His Third Term As China's President In March

The 69-year-old is now very set to win a third term as China's leader, which will be publicly declared in March during the annual legislative sessions of the government.

After a week-long Congress of 2,300 hand-selected party delegates, during which they confirmed Xi's "core position" in the leadership and authorised a comprehensive overhaul that saw previous competitors step down, he was formally installed.

Around 200 top party officials were chosen to make up the new Central Committee at the 20th Congress, and they reassembled on Sunday to pick Xi and the other members of the Standing Committee, which represents the pinnacle of Chinese political authority.

There were some of Xi's closest allies named in the seven-person committee.

Following his promotion to number two, Xi's confidant and former Shanghai party boss Li Qiang is now likely to be chosen premier at the government's annual legislative sessions in March.

Since taking office ten years ago, Xi has amassed more authority than any previous leader in modern China outside Mao.

In 2018, he removed the two-term restriction for president, enabling him to continue in office indefinitely.

Xi has also presided over China's growth to become the second-largest economy in the world, a significant military buildup, and a far more assertive global stance that has faced fierce criticism from the United States.
