'Vaccination Has Declined The Death Rate, Need To Be Wary Against Delta Variant': Joe Biden

US President Joe Biden said that the number of deaths due to coronavirus in the country has come down significantly due to the vaccination program.

US President Joe Biden said that the number of deaths due to coronavirus in the country have come down significantly due to the vaccination program, but the country needs to be cautious against the 'delta' variant of COVID-19. Biden stressed on the need to vaccinate people, saying that most of the patients who have died due to COVID-19 and those that had to be hospitalised are people who were not vaccinated.

The highly transmissible 'Delta' variant B.1.617.2, was first detected in India in December last and is now spreading rapidly across the world. 80 percent of new cases of infection in some parts of the US have been identified to be infected with the 'Delta' variant. President Biden made an announcement in the second meeting of his cabinet, on the occasion of the completion of six months of his administration on Tuesday. He said that the death rate due to COVID-19 has fallen sharply and that the number of deaths has fallen by about 90 percent due to the vaccination program.

Need to exercise caution against Delta variants: Biden

He said, "But we need to on guard against the 'delta' variant. Cases of COVID-19 are on the rise, but patients who have died due to COVID-19 and those who have had to be hospitalised were all people who weren't vaccinated." Biden added that "the safest way out of this is to get vaccinated, so our next step is to make sure that those who have not been vaccinated, should be vaccinated." He said, "We will help the world with vaccination. We are once again trying to create employment and develop the middle class not only in our country but in other countries too. Improvement in the economy of these countries is in our interest."
