US: 1 Killed, 7 Injured After Shooting At Kentucky Nightclub

A shooting at a Kentucky nightclub left one person dead and seven others injured. The incident occurred early Saturday morning.

US Shooting: At least one person was killed and seven others sustained injuries after a shooting at a Kentucky nightclub in the United States early Saturday morning, news agency AP reported, citing authorities. The deceased was identified as 40-year-old Joseph D. Bowers of Indianapolis. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Louisville Metro Police Department officials received a call that several people were shot at the H20 nightclub in Louisville just before 1 a.m.

Another adult was transported to UofL Hospital with gunshot wounds police believe to be “critical and life-threatening." According to AP, six other people transported themselves to area hospitals with injuries that were not life-threatening. A probe into the case has been launched, and the Louisville Metro Police Department's Homicide Unit is investigating the case.

There are currently no suspects in the shooting incident. “The relationship of the victims, if any, is not known at this time,” AP quoted the police as saying later on Saturday.

In another incident, at least three people were killed and 10 others sustained injuries after a shooter opened fire on Friday at a grocery store in Arkansas, United States.

The shooter left the store and parked cars riddled with bullet holes as bystanders ducked for cover both indoors and in the parking lot, news agency AP reported, citing authorities. Among those who sustained injuries were two law enforcement officers who exchanged fire with the shooter, as per the state police.

The shooting took place at the Mad Butcher grocery store in Fordyce, a city of about 3,200 people located 65 miles (104 kilometers) south of Little Rock. Speaking to reporters on Friday, Col. Mike Hagar, director of State Police and public safety secretary, said, “It’s tragic, our hearts are broken,” as quoted by the AP.

Visuals on the scene captured by reporters showed a slew of bullet holes in the grocery store’s window, and spent shell casings strewn throughout the parking lot, as reported by the AP.
