'Will Govern As American President, There Will Be No Blue State Or Red,' Says Biden As Confidence Grows In Democrats

"I'm not here to declare that we've won, but I am here to report that when the count is finished, we believe we will be the winners," he said on Wednesday in Delaware.

US Election 2020: As Democratic Party candidate Joe Biden inched closer to the victory tally, he staked his claim to the US presidency and said that he will govern as the US President. The counting of votes for the nail-biting United States presidential elections is underway and so far Biden seems to have taken the lead. He said he has the Electoral College votes for a victory, declaring, "We the people will not surrender." "I will govern as an American president," Biden said. "There will be no red states and blue states when we win. Just the United States of America." After a long night of counting, it's clear that we're winning enough states to reach 270 electoral votes needed to win presidency. I'm not here to declare that we won but I'm here to report when counting is finished, we believe we'll be winners, Biden said. Yesterday once again proved that democracy is the heartbeat of this nation, just as it has been its heartbeat for two centuries. Even in the face of pandemic, more Americans voted this election than ever before in American history, he added. The address by Biden hinted a sense of confidence as Democratic Party looked headed for a win especially after dealing back to back blows to Donald Trump taking away the must-win Michigan and Wisconsin.  Both Wisconsin and Michigan went to Trump four years ago with razor thin margins. Both were flips for Trump that year, stunning even the Republicans. The US 2020 election winner needs 270 and Trump is trailing at 214 at 4:30 p.m. EST (3 a.m. IST). Meanwhile, Trump tweeted, "They are finding Biden votes all over the place - in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan. So bad for our Country!"
