UK: British Cops Confirm Several Stabbed In Birmingham City Centre In 'Major Incident'; Rescue Operation Underway

Several people were stabbed in the centre of England's second city Birmingham on Sunday morning.

In a highly tragic incident, several people were stabbed in the centre of England's second city Birmingham on Sunday morning. West Midlands Police in a statement confirmed the incident stating that at approximately 12:30 AM on Sunday, September 6, the officials were called to reports of a stabbing in Birmingham city centre. A number of other stabbings were reported in the area shortly after. As per a report by BBC, the incident occurred near the area known as the Gay Village in the centre of Birmingham, where many people had been seated at outdoor tables eating and drinking. "We are aware of a number of injured people, but at the moment we are not in a position to say how many or how serious. However, all emergency services are working together at the scene, and making sure that those who are injured receive medical care," the British police said.
The officials said that the development has been declared as a 'major incident." The emergency services have well-rehearsed plans for dealing with major incidents. Cordons are in place, and there are some road closures. "Your safety is our priority. We are now reviewing our policing across the city and will make any necessary changes.
