'Miracle Rescue': 2-Month-Old Baby Found Alive Under Rubble In Turkiye After 128 Hours

New Delhi: In a miraculous incident, a two-year-old baby was rescued from the rubble of collapsed buildings after 128 hours in debris, as reported by Anadolu news agency. According to the agency, the baby survived the deadly disaster and was immediately taken to the hospital for medical checks.

Earlier, rescue teams pulled out more survivors from the rubble of collapsed buildings as the teams were racing against time to save lives in the wake of powerful earthquakes in southern Türkiye

In another similar incident in the Antakya district of Hatay province, a 7-month-old baby was rescued, 140 hours after the quakes struck the region, the Anadolu agency reported.

Many such incidents were reported during the rescue operations. On Saturday, teams pulled a pregnant woman and her brother from the rubble in Hatay.

Mohammed Habip, 26, was rescued from the debris of an 11-story building in the Onikisubat district of Kahramanmaras province, Anadolu agency reported. Fatma Oyel was pulled from a collapsed building in the Antakya district of Hatay 138 hours after the quakes. Thirteen-year-old Esma Sultan emerged in Gaziantep after being trapped for more than 133 hours.

The death toll due to the deadly earthquake in Turkiye and Syria has crossed the 28,000 mark with many still being feared dead, reported BBC. The rescue operations in Turkiye and Syria to save every possible life are underway as several countries including India intervene to help the devastated nations. However, several incidents of clashes have hampered the ongoing operations. 

An earthquake slammed Turkiye and Syria on Monday. India has launched "Operation Dost" to provide assistance to both countries. India dispatched relief supplies, a mobile hospital, and specialised search and rescue teams to Turkiye on Tuesday onboard four C-17 Globemaster military cargo planes to support the country's rescue efforts.
