Air Busan Plane, With 169 Passengers On Board, Catches Fire In South Korea; Four Injured

South Korea Plane Fire: The aircraft caught fire at the Gimhae International Airport in the southern part of South Korea, while the plane was preparing for departure to Hong Kong.

A plane in South Korea, with 169 passengers on board, caught fire on Tuesday at an airport in the southern city Busan, South Korean news agency Yonhap reported.

The aircraft caught fire at the Gimhae International Airport in the southern part of South Korea, while the plane was preparing for departure to Hong Kong.

Four people have sustained injuries during the evacuation. All the 169 passengers, six crew members and one maintenance worker aboard evacuated immediately after the fire.

The plane caught fire at its tail before the takeoff, scheduled at around 10:26 pm (local time) on Tuesday.

Air Busan is part of South Korea's Asiana Airlines, which was acquired by Korean Air in December, 2024.

The incident comes around a month after a Boeing 737-800 jet, from Bangkok to Muan, crashed during the emergency landing, killing 181 people and crew members on board on December 29.
