Pakistan: PM Imran Khan pays maiden visit to Pak's spy agency ISI
Khan said that ISI is Pakistan’s first line of defence and that the government and people of the country stand behind their armed forces and intelligence agencies, Dawn reported.
New Delhi: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday visited the headquarters of the Pakistan's spy agency Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) for the first time after becoming the PM.
The newly elected PM was briefed on various strategic intelligence and national security matters.
Upon his arrival, he was received by Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Director General of ISI Lt Gen Naveed Mukhtar, Dawn reported.
Khan said that ISI is Pakistan’s first line of defence and that the government and people of the country stand behind their armed forces and intelligence agencies, Dawn reported.
Khan paid his first visit to the ISI Headquarters in Islamabad after becoming the prime minister, the army said in a statement. He was briefed in details on various strategic intelligence and national security matters by the senior security officials, it added.
Khan's cabinet ministers were also with him during the visit.
