Pakistan cabinet to table proposal to resolve Kashmir issue, claims Shireen Mazari

In an interview to Pakistani journalist Nasim Zehra, Mazari said that the PTI government will prepare a proposal on resolving the Kashmir conflict within a week and will present it in the cabinet.

New Delhi: The newly formed Pakistan government which is apparently keen to resolve the ‘Kashmir issue’ with India, is likely to prepare a proposal regarding it. Minister for Human Rights in Imran Khan’s cabinet Shireen Mazari,  has reportedly claimed that the Pakistan government is preparing a proposal to resolve the Kashmir issue. He claimed that the proposal will be presented in the cabinet in a week’s time. In an interview to Pakistani journalist Nasim Zehra, Mazari said that the PTI government will prepare a proposal on resolving the Kashmir conflict within a week and will present it in the cabinet. Pakistan PM Imran Khan has been stressing on having dialogue and trade relations with India ever since he has come to power. Raking up the Kashmir issue in first address after elections, Khan said it is the "core" issue between the two countries and it should be resolved through talks. He added that it was about time that the two countries sat across the table and discussed the issues of concern. He said there has been a blame game between India and Pakistan with New Delhi holding Islamabad responsible for all its problems and Pakistan blaming India for whatever is happening in Balochistan. "This blame game, which brings us back to square one everytime, has to stop," he said. External Affairs Minister (EAM) Sushma Swaraj is also likely to meet her Pakistani counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly's (UNGA) in New York next month.
