Diljit Dosanjh Reacts To US Secretary Of State Antony Blinken Praising The Singer In Front Of PM Modi

While addressing the media, Blinken shared how India has always been a part of their daily lives in the US- from reading novels by Jhumpa Lahiri to grooving to the beats of Diljit Dosanjh.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently on his visit to the US. After celebrating Yoga Day and attending the State Dinner the day after, PM Modi was invited to a luncheon hosted by Vice President Kamala Harris and the United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken. While addressing the media, Blinken shared how India has always been a  part of their daily lives in the US- from reading novels by Jhumpa Lahiri to grooving to the beats of Diljit Dosanjh.

In his speech, he said, “India is a part of our daily lives, here in the US. We enjoy our Jhumpa Lahiri's novels over samosas. We laugh at the comedies of Mindy Kaling. We dance to the beats of Diljit at Coachella. And yes Mr. Prime Minister I can say this from personal experience, we keep ourselves more or less fit and healthy doing yoga. The United States is endlessly enriched by our thriving Indian diaspora. Doctors, teachers, engineers, business-leaders, public servants, almost all of them were at White House lawns yesterday to greet you.”

On hearing his name in the speech, Diljit shared the clip on his Twitter handle on Saturday. In the caption, he added an Indian and an American flag.

This clip went viral on social media and has been retweeted by Diljit's fans and followers. Diljit had previously set a milestone by being the first Punjabi singer to play at Coachella in April. Proper Patola, Raat Di Gedi, Born to Shine, Jatt Da Pyaar, Peaches, Laembadgini, and other hits were performed by the actor-singer. Amidst the crowd, American DJ Diplo was also seen swaying to the beats of his Punjabi tunes.

Meanwhile, on the acting front, Dosanjh will be seen portraying the role of the late Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila in the latter's biopic of the same name.
