China urges countries in West to end "fabrications" as Huawei faces allegations of spying

A couple of days ago, Polish officials arrested a Chinese Huawei employee and a former polish security official over allegations of spying for Chinese government.

New Delhi: Huawei, which is one of the world’s leading telecommunication equipment producers, is in deep waters in the West as it faces intense scrutiny over its alleged connections with Chinese government, several media reports suggest. Reacting to the reports, China on Monday urged countries to end “fabrications” about the company. China’s response came a day after Poland said his country could limit the use of the company’s products following arrest of a Huwaei employee on charges of spying, Reuters reported. Poland's counterespionage agency arrested Huawei executive Wang Weijing along with a former Polish security official on Friday on charges of spying for China. Huawei, in a statement on Saturday distanced itself from the incident and terminated the employment of the executive. The company is facing allegations that its devices could be used by Beijing for espionage. Although, so far no report has been produced publicly for the same and the company has repeatedly denied accusations. However, many other Western countries have also restricted the company from access to their markets. China’s Foreign Ministry expressed hope that the Polish side would work to create mutual trust. In August last year U.S. President Trump signed a bill that prevented the U.S government from using the equipment of Huawei and as per report,  is also in efforts of blacklisting it so that other U.S. companies can be banned from using its products as well. In Canada, the company has already witnessed the arrest of the daughter of the firm’s founder. Many other Asian and Pacific countries have followed Washington’s call for a Huawei ban.
