Viral Sach: The reality of Ladakh’s blood moon

New Delhi: A picture is going viral in which moon appears to be red. It is being claimed that the picture is of Ladakh’s Changla. This moon is called blood moon due to its red colour. What is the reality of blood moon? ABP News reached Delhi’s Nehru Planetarium. We talked to its director Ratnashree. She said to understand this, one needs to know what is lunar eclipse. When earth comes in between sun and moon, it is called lunar eclipse. Due to this, sunlight doesn’t reach the moon and it appears dark. In this case, the rays of sun are not reaching moon directly, but are reflected by earth. Red moon cannot be witnessed with naked eyes. A special camera has to be used. This viral message is true.
