Trump Vs Twitter: Dorsey Hits Back At US President Says 'Will Continue To Point Out Incorrect Information About Elections'
After US President Donald Trump lashed out against Twitter, CEO Jack Dorsey has defended his decision to highlight incorrect information about the upcoming presidential election.
New Delhi: The Twitter VS Donald Trump face off has escalated and the CEO of Twitter Jack Dorsey has defended his decision to highlight incorrect information about the upcoming presidential election. In series of tweets, Dorsey said that ‘We’ll continue to point out incorrect or disputed information about elections globally. And we will admit to and own any mistakes we make. This does not make us an “arbiter of truth.” Our intention is to connect the dots of conflicting statements and show the information in dispute so people can judge for themselves. More transparency from us is critical so folks can clearly see the why behind our actions.’
The feud between the social media and the president began after Twitter put a fact check warning to Trump’s tweet about the mail-in election process. Several US states such as Michigan and Nevada are considering a ‘mail-in’ voting system or postal voting to avoid mass gatherings during the election and avoid the spread of the virus. In this method ballots are distributed to electors and it is returned via post. The person does not have to be present in person for the election. The registered voters in these states have the right to mail-in voting and Trump legally cannot interfere in the state’s decision. He even threatened to stop federal funding to the state of Michigan if they go ahead with the mail-in voting. Trump had criticised the method of voting in a series of tweets. Soon after Twitter put the labels, Trump lashed out and said that the microblogging site was interfering in the Presidential election 2020 and ‘stifling free speech.’ He continued tweeting about twitter and in another tweet wrote ‘Big Tech is doing everything in their very considerable power to CENSOR in advance of the 2020 Election.’Fact check: there is someone ultimately accountable for our actions as a company, and that’s me. Please leave our employees out of this. We’ll continue to point out incorrect or disputed information about elections globally. And we will admit to and own any mistakes we make.

Big Tech is doing everything in their very considerable power to CENSOR in advance of the 2020 Election. If that happens, we no longer have our freedom. I will never let it happen! They tried hard in 2016, and lost. Now they are going absolutely CRAZY. Stay Tuned!!!
