Over 1,000 Covid Cases In Mumbai. Delhi Records 496 Infections, Highest Since June 4

In view of the increasing cases of Covid-19 in Delhi, the state government has implemented a yellow alert under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP).

New Delhi: The number of new Coronavirus cases in Delhi and Mumbai witnessed a sharp spike on Tuesday.

In the last 24 hours, 496 fresh Covid-19 cases have been reported in the national capital, highest since June 4, along with one person losing his life due to the dreaded infection, PTI reported. On June 4, 523 cases of Covid-19 were reported in Delhi.

As per PTI, the positivity rate in Delhi rose to 0.89%, which is the highest since May 31. The positivity rate on May 31 was 0.99%.

The cumulative case tally rose to 14,44,179. The death toll due to Covid-19 in Delhi rose to 25,107, the data said as per PTI.

Coronavirus in Maharashtra: Maharashtra on Tuesday reported 2,172 fresh Covid-19 cases, 1,098 recoveries, and 22 deaths. The number of active cases in the state stands at 11,492.

No fresh case of Omicron variant was reported in Maharashtra today; till date, 167 Omicron cases have been reported in the state.

1,377 new cases, 338 recoveries and, 1 death was reported in Mumbai today.

Yellow Alert In Delhi: Night Curfew From 10 PM To 5 AM Under GRAP — Know What's Open, What's Closed

In view of the increasing cases of Covid-19 in Delhi, the state government has implemented a yellow alert under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP).

CM Arvind Kejriwal announced closure of schools, colleges, cinemas and gyms with immediate effect. However, industries will remain open and construction work will continue.

What's Open Under GRAP  Level - I (Yellow Alert)

  • Delhi Metro at 50% capacity.
  • Restaurants and bars to operate at 50% capacity

What's Closed Under GRAP  Level - I (Yellow Alert)

  • Spas
  • Gyms
  • Multiplexes
  • Banquet halls
  • Auditoriums
  • Sports complexes

After Delhi government imposed new restrictions, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) declared that no standing passengers would be permitted on metro trains i.e. s, travel will be allowed only up to 50 per cent seating capacity.
