Militant Funding Case: SIA Raids Multiple Locations In Kashmir, Hurriyat Leader's House Searched
The raids are being conducted in the summer capital Srinagar, Bandipora, Budgam, Kupwara and other districts.
New Delhi: The State Investigation Agency (SIA) on Saturday raided several places and houses of Hurriyat activists in Srinagar and other districts of the valley in connection with the terror funding case, reported news agency ANI. The premises of suspected members of a proscribed terrorist organisation (Al-Badar) of Pakistan were also searched.

Meanwhile, the agency has got hold of many documents. The investigation of this matter is going on for a long time.
The raids are being carried out by the State Investigation Agency (SIA) at 12 places in Srinagar and other districts of Kashmir Valley with the assistance of police and CRPF. The raids are being conducted in the summer capital Srinagar, Bandipora, Budgam, Kupwara and other districts.
"House/premises of suspects in Kupwara, Baramulla, Bandipora, Srinagar and Budgam were searched in compliance to search warrant obtained from the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Designated under NIA Act (TADA/POTA) Srinagar in connection with investigation of case FIR No. 20/2022 u/s 13, 17, 18, 39, 40 UA (P) Act, 120-B IPC registered in Police Station CIK (SIA) Kashmir", the statement issued reads according to the Rising Kashmir.
Earlier on November 26, SIA questioned senior Hurriyat leader Professor Abdul Gani Bhat for nearly 8 hours on Saturday after summoning him to the JIC Jammu in a case involving militant and Hawala funding.

According to a top official reported by the news agency, Bhat was called in connection with a case of militant and Hawala funding in which former minister Jatendar Singh alias Babu Singh was previously arrested.
He claimed that Bhat was questioned for nearly eight hours at JIC Jammu after the agency summoned him today.
During questioning, the official added Bhat gave numerous details about the money collected from over the border by various Hurriyat leaders in the Valley.
Prof Bhat is the leader of the Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference and has previously led the Hurriyat Conference.
The All Parties Hurriyat Conference is an alliance of 26 political, social, and religious organisations that was created on March 9, 1993, as a united political front to raise Kashmiri separatism in the Kashmir conflict.
Bhat, who was born in the Botengo village of Sopore in North Kashmir, studied Persian, Economics, and Political Science at Sri Pratap College in Srinagar before continuing his studies in Persian and Law at Aligarh Muslim University.
