YSRCP Alleges 100 Cow Deaths At Tirupati Gaushala; TTD Calls It 'False Propaganda'

In response to former TTD Chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy's claim, TTD strongly refuted the allegations, dismissing them as “baseless rumours” and “false propaganda.”

YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader and former Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Chairman, Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, has alleged that over 100 cows have died in the TTD-run gaushala in Tirupati due to poor management over the last three months. Reddy blamed the alleged incident on the current Andhra Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan. In response, the TTD strongly refuted the allegations, dismissing them as “baseless rumours” and “false propaganda.”

'100 Cows Dead': YSRCP Leader's Claim

"Over 100 cows have died in the TTD gaushala in just 3 months. This is a shocking and heartbreaking tragedy...this has been neglected by the coalition govt led by CM N Chandrababu Naidu and Dy CM Pawan Kalyan,” said Reddy, as per ANI. “Despite their claims of upholding Sanatana Dharma, no postmortem was done, and an unqualified officer was appointed to manage the gaushala...I demand a probe and call upon Hindu leaders to hold this govt accountable,” he added.

Reddy also invoked the religious significance of cows, stating that Hindu tradition holds Lord Venkateswara survived on cow’s milk, further stressing the need to protect and respect the animals.

TTD Rubbishes Rumours

In a statement, TTD clarified that the photos circulating on social media are not from its gaushala and accused certain individuals of deliberately spreading misinformation to hurt the sentiments of devotees.

TTD said, as per ANI: "The rumours being spread on social media by a few individuals about recent cow deaths at the TTD Gaushala are completely false. With malicious intent, a few individuals are sharing these unrelated images and falsely claiming they are from the TTD Gaushala in an attempt to hurt the sentiments of devotees. TTD strongly condemns such false propaganda. TTD appeals to devotees and the public not to believe such baseless rumours."

Nara Lokesh Slams 'Malicious Propaganda'

Calling it baseless and malicious propaganda, Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh said, "I strongly condemn the baseless and malicious propaganda being spread on social media about cow deaths in TTD goshalas. There is no truth to these claims. TTD has clarified the facts. Devotees are urged not to believe this false narrative, which YSRCP has pushed to mislead and provoke. Spreading lies about sacred institutions for political gain is shameful and unacceptable."
