Weather Update: Rainfall Likely To Occur In THESE States Till Jan 14 — Check Out Met Warning

The Met department has predicted light rain in eastern MP besides UP during the next two days. It is expected to rain in Bihar, Jharkhand with thunderstorms from today till January 14.

Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday issued a warning  regarding thunderstorms in the East and surrounding Central India till January 14. The IMD has said that light rain was likely to continue in eastern Madhya Pradesh besides Uttar Pradesh during the next two days, after which it would recede. Whereas it was expected that thunderstorms would hit states like Bihar, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh from today till January 14.

West Bengal, Sikkim and Vidarbha, on the other hand, were likely to receive light to moderate rainfall. Heavy rain was expected in Odisha today and on January 13. Vidarbha was also expected to receive rainfall with lightning and hailstones on January 13. Today, Gangetic West Bengal, sub-Himalayan West Bengal were also likely to receive thunderstorms and Sikkim and Telangana were forecasted to receive rain on January 12.

Bijnor and Moradabad in UP receive 6 cm rain

The MeT department has also predicted heavy rain and snowfall in Arunachal Pradesh from January 11 to 13. Occasional rain showers were likely to occur in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on January 12 and 13. Meanwhile, the weather department had predicted rainfall till 8.30 am on Monday in the last 24 hours, as a result of which Bijnor and Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh received 6 cm of rainfall, whereas Amroha received 5 cm, Nakur 4 cm and Chitrakoot 4 cm of rainfall.

Heavy rains in several districts of Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh

In Madhya Pradesh, 6 cm of rainfall has been recorded at Pawai in Panna district, 6 cm at Venkatnagar in Anuppur district, 4 cm at Ganaur in Panna, 4 cm at Bakswaha in Chhatarpur. 

Yamuna Nagar and Panchkula in Haryana recorded 5 cm, Ambala 4 cm, and Chandigarh 3 cm of rainfall. 

3 cm of rainfall was measured in Uttarakhand’s capital Dehradun. 

In Himachal Pradesh, 8 cm rainfall at Kandaghat, 7 cm in Dharampur, Solan, Pakkajhar, Rajgarh, Bharmaur, Khadrala, Kasauli, Sangrah, Shimla Airport; 6 cm at Sirmaur, Arki Naina Davi, Baldwara, Jatton Barrage; 5 cm in Sundarnagar and Nahan, Banjar, Kothi, Sarahan, Shimla, Mandi, Rampur, Karsog, Gohar and Manali were recorded.
