Vijay’s TVK Begins 1st Anniv Celebration With Prashant Kishor, Party Launches '#GetOut Campaign' — Details

Vijay TVK 1st Anniversary: The actor-politician Vijay inaugurated the signature campaign by signing the first petition of #GetOut campaign, followed by party leaders, including Anand and Adhav Arjuna.

Vijay TVK 1st Anniversary: Tamil superstar and political leader Vijay’s Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) kicked off its first-anniversary celebrations with a grand public meeting at a private resort in Mamallapuram, near Chennai, on Wednesday. The event, marked by high anticipation and fervor, saw the launch of a signature campaign titled #GetOut, aimed at ousting the ruling DMK and BJP from power in Tamil Nadu.

The mega event, being attended by over 2,000 party members and supporters, also featured the presence of renowned election strategist Prashant Kishor, who was seen alongside Vijay.

Vijay, who has been gradually stepping into the political arena, was welcomed by the gathering amid roaring applause. Further, he is expected to speak on pressing issues such as the rise in sexual assault crimes in Tamil Nadu, the controversial three-language policy and the activities of the central government. With the state assembly elections slated for next year, Vijay’s speech is being closely watched for clues about his party’s agenda and electoral strategy.

Vijay launched Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam on February 2, 2024.

#GetOut campaign

The #GetOut campaign, a highlight of the event, was launched by Vijay. The actor-politician inaugurated the signature campaign by signing the first petition, followed by key party leaders, including Anand and Adhav Arjuna.

The campaign is designed to mobilise public support against what TVK describes as “dirty politics” played by politicians in the state. The campaign specifically targets the DMK and BJP, accusing them of failing to address the needs of Tamil Nadu’s people. The party also criticised the New Education Policy and the three-language policy, which have been contentious issues in the state.

However, Kishor notably refrained from signing the #GetOut campaign, sparking curiosity about his role in the party’s future strategies.
