Man Claiming To Be From Pakistan Threatens To Blow Up SBI Office In Mumbai If Not Granted Loan
The caller demanded a loan from the bank and threatened to kidnap the chairman of the bank and kill him if he was denied the loan.
New Delhi: The State Bank of India office in Nariman Point received a call threatening to blow up the bank and kill the chairman, police said on Friday. The caller claimed to be from Pakistan and threatened to blow up the office if he was not granted a loan.
According to ANI, the caller introduced himself as Md Jia-Ul-Alim and claimed he was calling from Pakistan. The caller demanded a loan from the bank and threatened to kidnap the chairman of the bank and kill him if he was denied the loan. He also said that he would blow up the bank if he is not granted the loan.
"An unidentified person called up on the landline of the Nariman Point branch of SBI on October 13 at around 11 am and threatened. The caller called himself MD Jia-Ul-Alim and said that he is speaking from Pakistan and that if he is not granted a loan at the earliest, he will kidnap the chairman of SBI and kill him. He also threatened to blow up the SBI office," a Mumbai Police official was quoted by ANI.

A complaint has been filed at the Marine Drive Police, after which a case was registered against the unidentified person. The Marine Drive police have registered a case against an unidentified person under section 506(2) of IPC and started an investigation.
According to Hindustan Times, the police traced the call and it was found that the call was made from West Bengal.
“We have traced the call to West Bengal and soon a team will visit the state and try to locate the caller. When we inquired with the bank, nobody with the caller’s name had even applied for a loan there," HT quoted a policemen as saying.
