Tripura: PM Modi & Home Minister Amit Shah To Attend Swearing-In Ceremony On March 8

Prime minister Narendra Modi, home minister Amit Shah, and BJP national president JP Nadda will attend the March 8 swearing-in ceremony in Tripura. 

Tripura's Bhartiya Janata Party president Rajib Bhattacharjee said on Saturday said that prime minister Narendra Modi, home minister Amit Shah, and the party's national president JP Nadda will be attending the swearing-in ceremony that will take place on March 8.

"The swearing-in ceremony of our cabinet will be held on 8th March. PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah & party's national president JP Nadda will be present there. People from all over the country will come and play Holi together in Tripura": State BJP president Rajib Bhattacharjee.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won an absolute majority and returned to power in the state.

The BJP won 32 seats with a vote share of roughly 39 per cent, according to the Election Commission of India. Tipra Motha Party came second with 13 seats. The Communist Party of India (Marxist) received 11 seats, while the Congress won three. The Indigenous People's Front of Tripura (IPFT) was successful in gaining one seat.

Chief Minister Manik Saha submitted his resignation to Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya on Friday. The new government's oath-taking ceremony will take place in Agartala's Vivekananda ground, according to a PTI report. 

"S K Sinha, Chief Secretary, is meeting with senior officials to discuss the Prime Minister's visit to the state. Today, an SPG team will also come. The Prime Minister will attend the new government's opening ceremony on March 7," a top police officer was quoted as saying. 

"Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam and the head of NEDA, is expected to arrive today. In fact, key party leaders and chief ministers from BJP-ruled states will be invited to the new government's swearing-in ceremony," Rebati Tripura, BJP state vice president was quoted as saying by PTI.

As per the report, the BJP state in-charge Mahesh Sarma and election in-charge Mahendra Singh are also in the northeastern state.

"The meeting of the party's newly elected members has still to be finalised," said Nabendu Bhattacharjee, BJP state spokesperson.
