Tamil Comedian & AIADMK Flag Designer Pandu Succumbs To Covid-19
Outgoing Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK Co-Coordinator Edapaddi K. Palaniswami condoled the demise of Pandu, who was well known to party founder and late chief minister M G Ramachandran.
Chennai: Tamil comedian Pandu, who is said to have designed the All India Anna Daravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) flag and its poll symbol ‘Two Leaves’, passed away due to Covid-19 at a hospital in Chennai on Thursday.
Pandu tested positive for Coronavirus some days ago along with his wife, who is still being treated for the virus
Outgoing Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK Co-Coordinator Edapaddi K. Palaniswami condoled the demise of Pandu, who was well known to party founder and late chief minister M G Ramachandran.
Several other AIADMK leaders, including former chief minister and party coordinator O. Panneerselvam, also offered their condolences.

Besides acting in movies, he also ran a company called Capital Letters that designed name boards, IANS reported.
Pandu, who is survived by his wife and three sons, breathed his last aged 74.
He made his acting debut with a key role in the 1981 release ‘Karaiyellam Shenbagapoo’. Pandu later acted in several films, including Rajinikanth starrer ‘Muthu’.
Pandu, the brother of late actor Idichapuli Selvaraj who has also worked as assistant director in some of MGR’s best films, was also part of the 2009 released ‘Singam’ starred Suriya and Anushka Shetty in lead roles. In addition to an illustrious film career, Pandu was also active in the TV industry.
Several celebrities from the Tamil film industry took to Twitter to offer their condolences.
Expressing grief over Pandu’s demise, producer Dhananjayan wrote: “Better to switch off from all social media for sometime. Very shocking to read this morning news. #RIPPandu sir, one of the finest human beings & actors. Going to be on home quarantine for some days. Be safe at home friends. Take care. Very challenging days ahead.”
Actor Sibi Sathyaraj lauded Pandu for his “unique style, expressions and dialogue delivery”.
“When actors like Goundamani Uncle and Senthil sir were ruling the 90’s, he held his own with his unique style,expressions and dialogue delivery. Rest in Peace Pandu sir. You will be missed! #RipPandu,” he posted on the miro-blogging platform.
Director Venkat Prabhu shared his picture and wrote, “#RipPandu Saar.”
