Sukma: ABVP condemns attack on CRPF, holds condolence meeting in JNU

New Delhi: Student wing of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Tuesday offered condolence to those CRPF personnel who lost life in Sukma encounter in Chhattisgarh state on Monday. "The cowardly attack on CRPF personnel by Naxals is condemnable. This is the biggest attack this year on our security forces and what our government is doing?" said ABVP's JNU Unit secretary Lalit Pandey while holding condolence meeting in JNU here. "Today Naxals don't want to walk on the road of development. Earlier this year, 12 CRPF soldiers were killed in the same district in a deadly ambush by Naxals", Pandey said. Secretary, ABVP - JNU Nikunj Makwana said that at this difficult time, ABVP stands with the family members of those 25 martyred in the attack. On Monday, the Communist Party of India (Maoist) (CPI) carried out an ambush attack on the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in the Sukma district, making it biggest attack in seven years. It took place between Burkapal and Chintagufa in Sukma district of Chattisgarh. 25 personnel martyred in the attack and more than six got wounded. Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday termed the attack against CRPF personnel in Sukma as “a cold blooded murder” and an “act of cowardice” by Left Wing Extremist groups. Addressing a press conference in Chhattisgarh capital Raipur, Singh also said the attack is an act of desperation. “We have accepted it as a challenge. We will review the strategy and if necessary we will revisit it.” ALSO READ: It is an act of cowardice, sacrifices of CRPF jawans will not go in vain: Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sukma attack
