The Man Who Brazenly Opened Fire At Delhi Police In Jaffrabad Identified As 33-Year-Old Shahrukh
Union Home Minister Amit Shah today held a meeting with Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Lt Governor Anil Baijal, Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik, Congress leader Subhash Chopra, BJP leaders Manoj Tiwari & Rambir Singh Bidhuri and others.
New Delhi: The man in a red t-shirt who brazenly opened fire at police during violence in North East Delhi on Monday has been identified as Shahrukh. The 33-year-old man was detained after his visuals of firing went viral. He was seen confronting an unarmed Delhi Police officer, forcing him to back off and then moving back shooting at some people on the other side of the road.
Shahrukh is said to be a resident of Shahdara.
Seven people, including one Head Constable of Delhi Police, lost their lives in the clashes between pro and anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) protesters that took place at various places in North-East District of Delhi on Monday.
Shahdara Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Amit Sharma was also injured during clashes between two groups in Delhi's Gokulpuri. He underwent a surgery on Monday night and is now safe and out of danger, reported ANI.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah today held a meeting with Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Lt Governor Anil Baijal, Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik, Congress leader Subhash Chopra, BJP leaders Manoj Tiwari & Rambir Singh Bidhuri and others.
"Everyone wants that the violence be stopped. The Home Minister had called a meeting today, it was a positive one. It was decided that all the political parties will ensure that peace returns to our city," Kejriwal said after the meeting.
