Satyendar Jain Suffered Blot Clot Due To Head Injury, Condition Now Stable: Report

In order to investigate Jains medical condition, several tests, including an MRI, were performed on him and the reports are awaited

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Delhi minister Satyendar Jain, who is undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU) of the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital in New Delhi, had suffered a blood clot due to a head injury, though his condition is stable, sources told news agency PTI on Friday.

A four-member medical board that include senior physicians from LNJP Hospital, neurologists from GB Pant Hospital, besides specialists in critical care has been constituted for the treatment of Jain, who was admitted to the hospital on Thursday.

In order to investigate Jains medical condition, several tests, including an MRI, were performed on him and the reports are awaited, reported PTI, citing sources.

The former Delhi minister is currently on intravenous fluids.

Meanwhile, Jain was granted interim bail for six weeks on medical grounds by the Supreme Court. In its order the court said that every citizen has the right to receive treatment of his choice in a private hospital at his own expense.

The bail was granted after jain collapsed in Tihar Jail due to dizziness and was admitted to the ICU. The AAP leader was seen on oxygen support after the incident.

Jain was first admitted to the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Hospital and later shifted to the Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital due to breathing problems.

The former Delhi minister was shifted to the ICU of the LNJP Hospital and he was "critically ill", sources in the AAP told PTI.

This is the second time in a week that the former minister has been taken to a hospital. Jain has been in Tihar Jail since his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with a money laundering case in May last year.

"Jain has some spinal issues. In the past too he was brought to LNJP Hospital to undergo treatment for it," said a senior doctor at the hospital on Thursday.
