Students Prepare Rakhis For Army Personnel, Rajnath Singh Assures Sending It To Soldiers
"As the Defence Minister of the country, I assure you that I myself will provide these rakhis to the three service chiefs so that they can reach the jawans of all three services," Singh said.
On the upcoming occasion of Raksha Bandhan, Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh promised schoolchildren on Saturday that he would send their handmade rakhis to Indian warriors who are defending the country, news agency ANI reported.
"As the Defence Minister of the country, I assure you that I myself will provide these rakhis to the three service chiefs so that they can reach the jawans of all three services," Singh was quoted by ANI on its official Twitter handle.
The union minister had earlier in the day received a number of Rakhis by youngsters from various schools. The rakhis for the troops were fashioned by the pupils.

Significance Of Raksha Bandhan
Raksha Bandhan, which is observed on August 11, symbolises the love between siblings.
The holy thread represents the connection. According to conventional wisdom, it fortifies and safeguards siblings by fending against dangers. As a result, siblings offer prayers for one another's welfare.
Raksha Bandhan, an interesting coincidence, falls on the same day as the Yajurveda Upakarma (sacred thread changing ceremony), Gayatri Jayanti (the anniversary of the birth of Goddess Gayatri), Hayagriva Jayanti (the anniversary of the birth of Lord Hayagriva, a manifestation of Lord Vishnu), and Narali Purnima festival.
