Rajnath Singh To Join Navy Personnel To Observe International Yoga Day On INS Vikrant Tomorrow

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will join Indian Navy personnel to perform yoga onboard the indigenously built aircraft carrier INS Vikrant on International Day of Yoga

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will join Indian Navy personnel to perform yoga onboard the indigenously built aircraft carrier INS Vikrant on International Day of Yoga (June 21). Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral R Hari Kumar, President of Naval Welfare and Wellness Association Kala Hari Kumar and other senior officers of Indian Navy and the Ministry of Defence will be present during the event. The Indian Navy, in a statement, said: "Armed forces personnel, including Agniveers, will also participate in the event."

INS Vikrant is the latest addition to India's fleet of aircraft carriers.

Following the yoga session, the Defence Minister will deliver a speech and honour yoga instructors.

During the event, the Indian Navy will showcase an exclusive video highlighting their outreach activities under the theme of 'Ocean Ring of Yoga.' Additionally, Indian Navy units deployed in the Indian Ocean Region will visit various ports of Friendly Foreign Countries to promote the message of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam', which is also the theme for International Day of Yoga 2023. It's worth mentioning that this year marks the ninth anniversary since the United Nations officially recognized June 21 as the International Day of Yoga in 2014.

Tomorrow, the Defense Minister is also scheduled to inaugurate the Integrated Simulator Complex (ISC) 'Dhruv' at the Southern Naval Command in Kochi. ISC 'Dhruv' houses state-of-the-art simulators that have been indigenously developed, offering advanced practical training capabilities for the Indian Navy.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also celebrate International Day of Yoga, but in the US. On Tuesday morning, PM left for his three-day visit to the United States. He is scheduled to participate in the Yoga Day at the United Nations on June 21. 

Earlier, PM Modi called on people worldwide to embrace yoga and incorporate it into their daily lives.

PM Modi emphasized the significance of June 21, the International Day of Yoga, which is eagerly anticipated by people in every corner of the world. This year's theme, 'Yoga For Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam', reflects the essence of yoga as a unifying force that fosters the well-being of all, promoting the idea of "One World-One Family."
