'Raj Thackeray Promoting Hindutva. Anything Is Possible In Politics': BJP Leader On Alliance With MNS

Girish Mahajan said that he is in favour of a BJP-MNS alliance at a personal level, but the ultimate decision would be taken by the party's high command.

Raj Thackeray, the Maharashtra Navanirman Sena (MNS) chief is trying to create a narrative in Maharashtra's politics by raking up the issue of Azaan (Muslims' call for prayer) on loudspeakers. The MNS chief has given the state government an ultimatum till May 3, 2022, to take down the loudspeakers from the mosques.

Thackeray, who campaigned against the Modi government during the Lok Sabha elections in 2019 is now talking about Hindutva, a topic that is associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). These developments have given rise to the discussion on a possible coalition between BJP and MNS in the upcoming civic body polls.

Adding to this statement, Mahajan said that there is a competition between Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray. "It is good that Raj Thackeray is talking about Hindutva. There is competition between Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray. Uddhav Thackeray says Raj's Hindutva is fake, but the public will decide whose Hindutva is original and whose is duplicate. He will get the answer during the next election," said Mahajan.

Will there be MNS-BJP alliance?

Talking about the alliance between BJP and MNS, Girish Mahajan said that nothing is impossible in politics. This is all a question for BJP's superiors. They will decide.

Meanwhile, MNS chief Raj Thackeray has been consistently criticizing the Mahavikas Aghadi government. He has also raised the issue of Hindutva in the meetings held at Dadar and Thane. Raj also said that a state-wide agitation will be held if loudspeakers are not taken off mosques.
