Punjab Cop Injures Mobile Shop Worker In 'Accidental Firing': Video
The accused police official has been suspended and the CCTV footage has been recovered.
New Delhi: In a tragic incident, a youth working in a mobile shop in Punjab’s Amritsar got injured in an alleged accidental firing by a policeman, news agency ANI reported on Thursday.

“The accused police official has been suspended. We've recovered the CCTV footage,” ANI quoted Varinder Singh, ACP North, Amritsar as saying. He further said that necessary action will be taken as per the statements of the eyewitnesses and the family. The condition of the injured person is serious.

Earlier in October, in a similar incident, one person got killed after a rifle of a policeman on duty at Haal Pulwama went off accidentally. The person was immediately evacuated to the hospital by the police after the incident where he succumbed to his injuries.
The person who died was identified as Mohd Asif Padroo. He was a resident of Poterwaal Shopian, ANI reported. A case was registered and the policeman was arrested.
