'Real Secularism And Social Justice Is...': PM Modi At 'Viksit Bharat, Viksit Goa 2047' Event

PM Modi applauded the harmonious coexistence of diverse communities, particularly highlighting the unity among the Christian community and people of other faiths in Goa.

In an address during the 'Viksit Bharat, Viksit Goa 2047' programme, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday asserted the significance of Goa's contribution to the nation's progress, citing the historic Lohia Maidan as a testament to the state's "commitment to the nation". Highlighting Goa's unique blend of social diversity, PM Modi noted that the state, though small in size and population, holds a prominent place with its social diversity.

"The progress and well-being of Goa and its citizens are our priority," stated PM Modi, echoing the BJP's mantra of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.' He applauded the harmonious coexistence of diverse communities, particularly highlighting the unity among the Christian community and people of other faiths in Goa.

During his speech, PM Modi announced the launch of Rs 1300 crore projects spanning education, health, and tourism, aiming to accelerate Goa's development. He reiterated the essence of 'Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat' resonating in Goa and assured that the 'Modi Ki Guarantees' presented to the people will significantly benefit the state.

"Out of the several of the Central Government's schemes, Goa has achieved 100% saturation in many of them. We all know that when saturation is achieved differences end, benefits reach every beneficiary, and people don't need to pay bribes to get their rights. So, I say again and again that saturation is true secularism, true social justice. This saturation is Modi's guarantee for Goa and the country," the Prime Minister said.

Earlier in the day while addressing the 'India Energy Week 2024,' PM Modi underscored India's economic prowess, surpassing 7.5% growth, and projected the nation to become the world's third-largest economy in the near future. He revealed plans for a substantial USD 67 billion investment in the energy sector over the next 5 to 6 years.

PM Modi extended a global invitation for investors to actively engage in India's energy sector expansion. He outlined ambitious targets to enhance India's refining capacity from 254 MMTPA to 450 MMTPA by 2030. Modi commended India's strides in renewable energy and ethanol blending, showcasing a more than 20-fold increase in solar capacity and a surge in ethanol blending from 1.5% to over 12% in the past decade.

"India is building a modern infrastructure of the 21st century," affirmed the Prime Minister, highlighting a substantial investment of ₹10 lakh crore on infrastructure in the current financial year. He also addressed India's rising energy demand, anticipating a doubling to about 38 million barrels by 2045, while ensuring affordable energy accessibility across the nation.
