New Delhi: Ahead of Republic Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with NCC cadets and NSS volunteers in the national capital on Wednesday, who are part of this year's Republic Day celebrations. While addressing the volunteers, PM Modi expressed joy, saying, "Meeting you all today becomes a special occasion as today is 'Rashtriya Balika Diwas'. Today is the day to sing praises for the passion and achievements of daughters."

He further highlighted the importance of Republic Day, saying, "This year, the Republic Day parade will be even more special because of two reasons, firstly, this will be the 75th Republic Day and secondly it is dedicated to the women's power of the nation", as per news agency ANI.

PM Modi also talked about the 'Gen Z' term that is often used to describe today's generation saying, "Your generation is called GenZ in your language. But I will call you 'Amrit Peedhi'... India's 'Amrit Peedhi' will take the country to greater heights...

The Prime Minister alluded to National Girl Child Day during his interaction with the NCC and NSS cadets-volunteers. He said, "Today is National Girl Child Day. It is the day to celebrate the achievements of our daughters. Yesterday, you all witnessed that the nation took a huge step by announcing that the late socialist leader Karpoori Thakur will be awarded the Bharat Ratna."

According to news agency PTI, he also said, "This is the first time that Republic Day parade is dedicated to the 'nari shakti' of the country. Today, I am seeing daughters from different parts of the country gathered here. You have not come alone here; you have brought along the essence of your state, the experience of customs and traditions, and the rich thinking of your society."

The Prime Minister discussed how the youth have the biggest responsibility for making India a developed country as they represent the country’s aspirations and dreams.

"The ‘Yuva Samvad’ holds special importance for me for two factors - youth have energy, enthusiasm, zeal, and novelty, and through you, the positivity inspires me to work hard day and night. In this Azadi ka Amrit Kaal, all of you represent the country’s aspirations and dreams," PM further added.

India is all geared up for Republic Day celebrations with full fervour and joy.
